Questions about registration
What happens if I register and then have to cancel?
If you have to cancel your place, there will be a £33 administration charge (the combined charges of Robinson College and the BFA, including tax). The amount of your conference fee that will be refunded is explained in Robinson College’s terms and conditions: https://www.robinson.cam.ac.uk/conferences/dms/docs/48_terms.pdf.

The smaller part of your conference fee that goes to the BFA will be refunded in the same proportions at the same dates. However, if we are able to fill your place from the waiting list, we will refund this part of your fee in full.

We advise you to take out travel insurance for the whole of your conference fee as well as your travel costs.
What is the difference between a Participant and a Coordinator?
A participant is a focuser who attends the conference. A coordinator is a Focusing Coordinator with the Focusing Institute who can attend the coordinators meeting as well as the conference.
Please explain the different room types
Single ensuite means a single room with an ensuite bathroom.

Single shared bathroom means a single room with a bathroom shared with another person.

Twin room share means a room with two beds shared with another person, with an ensuite bathroom.

Day delegate means you have lunch and dinner, but not breakfast, and you arrange somewhere else to sleep – such as camping, staying in or near Cambridge with a friend, Airbnb etc.
Can I apply for a scholarship?
We hope to offer some scholarships to people from less wealthy countries who would otherwise be unable to come. For more information see our page about scholarships
Can I book for more than one person?
Yes, you will be able to make one booking for two or more people if you wish. You will need to pay for all the people in the booking at the same time.
Can I book as a couple for the conference?
Of course! All the twin and double rooms have already been taken, so you have the choice of booking two single rooms (either ensuite or with a shared bathroom) or coming as day delegates and arranging your own accommodation (such as Airbnb, bed and breakfast, camping).
Can my partner stay at the college but not attend the conference?
All the twin and double rooms have already been taken, so this is no longer possible. You could consider coming as a day delegate and arranging your own accommodation together in Cambridge (such as Airbnb, bed and breakfast, camping). Email Maymay if your partner would be interested in having dinner in college.
Can my partner come to the dinners and entertainments?
If you and your partner are not staying in the college and he or she is not attending the conference, then he or she is welcome to join you for the dinners and entertainments in the evenings, including at Kings College. You will find the package for this on the online system when you register, the price is £190.
Can I book extra nights at Robinson College before or after the conference?
Yes, if the college has a room available on the date you want, you will be able to book bed and breakfast for between £80 and £128 a night. The online link for this is: http://kinetic.robinson.cam.ac.uk/KxBnB/Default.aspx
Is it possible to stay at a campsite?
Yes, you can come as a day delegate and book a campsite separately. The nearest campsite to the Robinson College is Highfield Farm Touring Park. To travel from the campsite to the college, you can drive and book a parking space, or take a bus (a 10 to 15 minute ride with a 10 minute walk at either end), share a taxi or hire a bicycle.
